Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire; after saving your family and pets, you have time for a final dash to save something of yours. What would it be?
The only thing I can think of that would be super important to get would be the very laptop with which I’m writing this post. It’s got a lot of important information and records saved in its files, so I’ll want to make sure I’ve got that.
When it comes to stuff, I’m just not very sentimental. I mean, I look around my living room and there are very few things that could not be replaced. I might not be able to get new copies of my high school yearbooks, but do I really look at those very often anyway? Do I need to know that someone thought it was hilarious in 9th grade to “sign my crack?”
It’s not like it was when I was a kid and we actually had physical photo albums, so I don’t need to try and save any pictures. Everything is digital now… backed up on this very laptop.
But what would you do? Would you rush back in to save something that might be less practical than what I chose? How does sentimentality weigh in on your decision of what to save? Let me know down in the comments!

If everyone that I cared about was safe, then I might go back in for pictures because pictures are taken in the past and you can’t get that time back. I travel so often with only 1suitcase. This last time the scales at the airport said it weighed 38-39 pounds. That was the heaviest suitcase of stuff I ever saved. Once I moved across the country with just a school-kid sized backpack and a camera around my neck…memory cards full of pictures were in the backpack.

My dad took the task of backing up all our family photos onto some sort of memory thing and storing it in his safety deposit box at the bank so pictures are taken care of. I have a question: am I wearing my hair in this fire? Because honestly, I would also grab the laptop but I would also also need to have hair LOL My current “good wig” is actually more expensive than my laptop was brand new (I bought them the same summer actually) If I was sleeping while this fire happened, I would not be wearing it so I would need to get it. But yeah….I’m with you. I’d get the laptop (and the wig in the same trip)

I am lucky at the moment because I still have quite a few boxes in my front porch including my Yearbooks. I would probably grab my keys and if I could the Ashes of my cat, Puma and the Paperweight with my dog, Petey’s Ashes.
