Well… Last week I finished off my Top 100 favorite movies of all time with a look at Back to the Future as my number one. This was after sitting through the American Film Institute’s Top 100 movies of all time according to their critics.
My next great movie adventure will be the Top 100 movies that I have never seen. As with my previous list, I have turned to my good friends at Flickchart to provide me with a list of movies I’ve never ranked on their site. In addition, I took a look at the best reviewed movies on IMDB.com. Looking at their list, I pulled out the top 100 that I know I’ve never seen.
I then compared the lists, taking any duplicate films that show up on both lists as well as including the top movies that only showed up on one or the other. Hopefully I’ve managed to put together a list that is fairly accurate, based on the information provided by those two sites.
Here they are…

How many of those have you seen? Are there any for which you look forward to seeing my thoughts? As with the last two lists, we’ll begin at 100 and work our way down. So come back next week for The Circus, one of Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp films.
Yay! You’re finally going to watch the Before trilogy aka my all-time favorite trilogy. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on the first two and hopefully eventually the third. Just a heads up, Before Sunrise is the first installment and Before Sunset is the second. I rather you don’t watch the trilogy out of order.

Yeah, I noticed that the movies are out of order when I was compiling the list. I’m gonna have to watch them in order and just hold on to my post about the first one until its time comes.

I have seen 4 of those, if I remember correctly.

I have seen 23 out of 100. Although a bulk of the list are things I intend to review in the future. I think I’m most curious about your thoughts on Studio Ghibli films.
P.S. I second Dom’s suggestion to watch Before Sunrise and Before Sunset in order. Plus Before Midnight if you have the time, even though it’s not on your list. 🙂

I haven’t even heard of most of those movies. I really am out of sync with society when it comes to anything to do with Hollywood/entertainment/ celebrities but I am ok with that.

Hotel Rwanda and Spotlight are probably 2 of my favorites on this list; both are somewhat hard to watch, but have great messages. I also adore Dead Poets Society, but mainly I just adore Robin Williams. Hachi: A Dog’s Tale–have a a tissue box ready. Into the Wild–have snacks ready (I remember this being a really long movie). Also fun fact: I got to watch Once Upon a Time in the West at the Library of Congress. :

I’ve read the story behind Hachi and know it’s heartbreaking. I’m looking forward to a lot of the movies on this list that I’m sure I should’ve seen a long time ago and have just never gotten around to.

Sorry… I really didn’t intend to leave anything important out. I just went with the lists that I found via Flickchart and IMDB. But it’s good to know there are even more great movies out there for me to see!
