Would you rather watch an Olympics that outlawed performance-enhancing drugs or one that embraced them and let athletes use medical pit crews to jack up their performances?
Wasn’t this a sketch on Saturday Night Live once? Maybe back in the ’80s or early ’90s? I have a vivid image in my mind of some kind of enhanced Olympics and a weightlifter who was about to dead lift an ungodly amount of weight. And when he pulled up, his arms ripped right off.
That’s all I picture when someone mentions allowing performance-enhancing drugs for all the athletes.
No… I’d much rather watch an Olympiad where all the athletes train naturally without any enhancements. Because where does it stop? I’m sure we’re not far from entering the realm of science fiction and having bionic parts that enhance human beings. Today it’s drugs. Tomorrow it’ll be the $6 million dollar man.
How about you? Would you prefer to see natural athletes or watch competitors that are beyond jacked up? Let me know in the comments!
