Because today is World Lizard Day, our Sunday Scribblings prompt for this week is Lizard. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…
When I see that word… Lizard… All I can think about is an old Taco Bell commercial.
If you’re in your late 30s/early 40s, you might know the one I’m talking about before I even get a chance to describe it.
It was a promotional tie-in with that horrible version of Godzilla that came out in the 90s. Matthew Broderick was in it. I don’t know… I never heard anything good about it, so I never saw it.
Anyway, Taco Bell was part of the promotional synergy involved and this is back when they had the talking chihuahua as the focus of most of their ad campaigns. You know, the dog that would just show up and say, “Yo quiero Taco Bell.”
Well, in the Godzilla ad, the little chihuahua was walking through the ruined streets of New York City calling the monster. He kept saying, “Heeeeere, Liiiiizard Liiiizard Liiiiiizard!”
Strange time, the 90s.
Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.
Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!
