Can you believe it’s already May? How did April pass by so quickly?
This was my fourth year participating in the A to Z Challenge and it was very different from any of my previous years. During my first two attempts at the challenge, I’d gone through the alphabet with posts about various movies. In my first year there were no restrictions to the movies I chose. In 2020, I was restricted to anything that could be found on Disney+. Last year… there were no movies. I just took a tour through the DC Universe and explored my thoughts about 26 fictional characters.
This year I decided to write my own fiction. Initially, the challenge was just to have friends and family provide me with random words that coincided with the letter of the day. I didn’t go into it with the intention of writing stories set in the world of DC Comics, nor did I intend to have each story connect to build toward a bigger picture. But when I saw that the first few stories could easily have connecting threads, I thought, why not?
So that’s what we’ve got this year. 26 interconnected stories that all take place in some non-canon version of the DC Universe. If that sort of thing interests you and you happened to have missed these stories throughout the month, I invite you to start back at the beginning and work your way through. I welcome your feedback. Especially because this might be the first time I’ve ever put something fictional on my blog that comes to a definitive conclusion. So let me know if you think it turns out okay. In the meantime, here are links to each day’s story…
- Arena
- Broken
- Colander
- Delirium
- Estrogen
- Façade
- Grunt
- Hoopla
- Icicles
- Joust
- Kangaroo
- Lemonade
- Map
- Nuisance
- Opened
- Photosynthesis
- Quintessential
- Ransom
- Sensational
- Thrash
- Universe
- Vroom
- Water
- Xenophobe
- Yeet
- Zesty
To everyone who stuck it out with me throughout the challenge, thanks for coming back day after day. If you keep coming back, I hope you find something entertaining to read here.
Something else to consider… The A to Z Challenge is designed in such a way as to encourage bloggers to find new blogs to read and interact with. Below you’ll find links to some blogs that I enjoyed catching up with throughout the month. Obviously, this isn’t all of the ones I tried to read each day and there was no way I could catch all of the ones I thought were interesting. Free time lasts only so long and I can only read so fast. If I missed your blog and your challenge, forgive me. To all who participated, congratulations for making it through another April.
- The Dreamgirl Writes – Each day was part of a continuing story
- Elena Square Eyes – Each day was a different movie review
- Janet’s Smiles – Each day was a different idea for date night
- MidLife Cat Lady – Each day was about a different food
- Monty’s Blahg – Each day was a poem based on a silly word
- No Love for Fatties – Each day was a different Disney character
- The Other Side Blog – Each day explored a different conspiracy theory
- yoyoliving – Each day was something interesting about South Dakota
You did such a great job with your challenge! Way to go getting all the way to the end and creating such a connected piece! You should be so proud of yourself! Also super jealous you had the time and energy to do such a massive undertaking!

What a befitting post as a reflection to end the challenge. This was my third challenge or fourth challenge I guess. The first one was a random one, the second one I had participated through my food blog culinarydelites.wordpress.com and then the third time also I had participated through the same blog but I left in the middle, as I was working full time and hence was not able to devote time to it. But this time I made sure to complete it. So kudos to all those who saw the end line and finish the challenge.

Despite not being particularly knowledgeable of the DC Universe, I really enjoyed your take on the characters and their intertwining storylines. Congrats on completing an excellent A-to-Z!

The way I see it, you have the rest of the year to catch up with all the other blogs. I know I plan on going through and trying to read and comment on a lot of them, because I felt like I was swamped. Thanks for participating, and we’ll see you soon!
