Question of the Week #189

Can you be counted on to do what you say you’ll do? What does it take for you to trust someone?

I think I can be counted on to do what I say. Obviously, I’m not perfect. I’m gonna make mistakes and I’m gonna let people down. But that’s just not something I would do on purpose. I’m pretty good about not making promises that I don’t think I can keep. That keeps me from having to go back on my word. If I say I’ll do something, I’ll do everything in my power to follow through.

Unless it involves a social outing of some kind. I don’t know… maybe it’s just the introvert in me. There are a lot of times when I’ll agree to go to some thing that’s weeks away and then when the time comes, I generally regret committing to the thing. And there have been times I’ve backed out of attending some kind of event.

As for trust? Well, I’ll allow myself to trust someone until they give me a reason not to trust them. After that, it might be impossible for them to re-earn that trust.

But what about you? Are you the kind of person who does what they say? How trusting are you of others? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I can almost always be counted on to do what I say I will do. Unless it’s a weather or health concern. I would feel too guilty if I just skip things. Even if I have a legitimate reason I will sill usually feel guilty or anxiety about seeing the people I flaked on.

As for trusting people, I trust way too easily. I usually trust right away and deeply and then get the backlash after if there is some. Lol not a good system and it doesn’t always work out but it’s what I do haha
