Question of the Week #179

If you went to a movie with a friend and it was lousy, would you leave?

Probably not. I’ve seen a lot of really bad movies. And if I didn’t walk out of last year’s Hurricane Heist, there’s a good chance I won’t walk out of anything.

Though, I will say this, I saw Hurricane Heist while I still had MoviePass. When I had that, I would see anything and everything. These days, not that I’ve rid myself of the MoviePass, I actually pay money for movies. Therefore, I’m a lot pickier with my movie choices. I’m not gonna pay to see something that I don’t absolutely want to see. If I’m paying money, there’s no way I’m walking out.

What about you? Would you walk out of a movie you didn’t like?

  1. If I went with a friend, probably not. I’d grit my teeth for my friend’s sake, although if I got a sense that they were not enjoying it either I’d ask them what they thought.

Having said that, we go to the movies (as in, to a real bricks & mortar theater) so rarely and only for movies we decided we really wanted to see, that the question has never come up. Movies at home on Netflix, that’s another matter. Bailed on plenty of those!

  2. I hardly ever go to the movies and when I do, I know I’m going to love it and it’s going to be worth while – like Avengers or The Grinch. But even if it wasn’t the most entertaining, I agree with what’s been said that I wouldn’t want to walk out because I paid for it.

Although I’m not sure if I would walk out if i really wasn’t enjoying the movie. Last summer was watching a movie I expected to like but it was a lot more violent that I was expecting and I was basically hiding behind my boyfriend, cutting the circulation off to his arm cos I was holding on so tight and he asked if I wanted to leave and I still shook my head and we stayed lol
