How do you react when people sing “Happy Birthday” to you in a restaurant?
Well… This is appropriate. My birthday is eight days away. I know a lot of people get embarrassed when someone sings to them in a restaurant. But I’m not one to embarrass easily. I mean, I’m the guy who usually embarrasses the people around him. If you’re ever in my presence, just ask me to do the laugh and you’ll know what I mean. I may be an introvert and I may have difficulty having conversations with new people from time to time, but, for whatever reason, I really don’t have a problem becoming the center of attention, whether that’s in a room of people I’m familiar with or total strangers. How’s that for a run-on sentence? So, yeah, next Sunday, I expect to be sung to. Multiple times.
What about you? Easily embarrassed? Relish the attention?

I absolutely hate having Happy Birthday sung to me, whether in public or not, but that probably boils down to some bad experiences growing up involving birthdays. I loathe hearing the song and I despise singing the song, but I have a kid(s) and other people enjoy it, so I go along with it because I’m not going to ruin others’ fun just because of how I feel about it. Still, all it takes is the first few notes, and my stomach starts flopping and I have to fight a bit of anxiety. It kinda sucks.
