Apple

Because today is Johnny Appleseed Day, our Sunday Scribblings prompt for this week is Apple. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…

When I think about apples, it’s hard not to think of all the delicious things that can be made with apples…

Apple pie…

Apple cobbler… which, let’s be honest, is just apple pie in a bigger serving size with a messier presentation…

Applesauce…

Apple cake…

Apple butter…

Apple juice…

Baked apples…

I mean, that’s just off the top of my head. I’d like to say that’s making me hungry, but as I write this I have no appetite. And then there are just the regular old apples.

I’ve never gone to an orchard and just picked an apple off a tree and taken a bite. I’m not sure I could allow myself to do that without washing it first. Even if the growers deny the use of any kind of pesticides.

Personally, I prefer a Golden Delicious variety over pretty much any other apple I can find in the produce section at Kroger. Though, I’ll admit, I haven’t tasted every kind of apple that’s out there. I’m sure there are even a bunch that I’ve never even heard of.

That’s all I’ve got… Though I guess I could add that once the weather starts getting cold, I’ll head over to Starbucks and order the only beverage I actually like from that place: the Caramel Apple Spice.

Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.

Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!
