Question of the Week #247

Would you like to have a high-definition nude image of yourself in your physical prime? If not, do you think you might someday wish you could see one?

No. And no.

I mean, what was the point of all that puritanical thinking for so many years if not to shame us for our nudity?

Honestly, though, even in my prime, I was nothing special to look at. Judging solely by physical appearance, I’m not exactly turning any heads. At least, not in a positive way. Besides, to borrow a phrase from The 40-Year-Old Virgin, I’ve got kind of a teen wolf thing going on from the neck down. It’s really obnoxious.

And probably more than any of you wanted to know…

But what about you? Would you want to have a nude image of yourself in your prime for posterity? Let me know down in the comments!

  1. Living in the USA, can seem like living around a bunch of hypocrites. You can walk into museums (with your children) that have nude oil paintings and statues, but you will be shamed for showing to much skin in public.

Seeing as I had my first child when I was 18.5, I am not sure what age to consider my “prime”. I will assume my prime started out with a mommy tummy and stretch marks… and who in their right mind would want to look at that? NOT ME.

  2. I feel like this question is asking for “sorry TMI” answers LOL so I guess you’re gonna get one! I’ve spent my entire life as a plus-sized person and for most of that time, it hasn’t really bothered me. In my teens, I would hide in baggy clothes wishing I was skinny but I was never bullied or anything. I was truly blessed with not really caring for the most part. Like YES, of course, I wish I was skinny but I also know that it doesn’t take away from my person to not be skinny. But as I have gotten older, I have learned to actually love my body and quite frankly I don’t mind how it looks naked lol. I’m not sure I would want a high def image around for all to see any time they want, because while I am a confident woman, I am also a modest one (most of the time) and don’t think that it’s something I would personally do, but I also wouldn’t be repulsed by the thought.

  3. Yes definitely. If in physical prime why not? We take photos of our wedding day because that’s the height of our lives, so why not our bodies too, for keepsakes. In fact, I want it shown to everyone at my funeral as well 😁

  4. My prime may be too young for it to be considered appropriate. Or likely I haven’t reached my prime yet. I have several friends whom I always assumed would stay at the weight they’ve always been. Then they surprise me with a dramatic weight loss that gives me hope. I’m only 25 afterall, it’s never too late. But having a nude photo is still a bit weird for me.
