Sunday Scribblings #1 – Beginning

Last week I brought up my own issues with missing the phenomenon that was Sunday Scribblings. I also brought up the possibility of starting up something similar here if anyone was interested. And there were several of you out there who expressed interest in participating. So here we are!

Each Wednesday I will post a new prompt here at The Confusing Middle. Be as creative as you want with the prompt and post something over on your own blog. Then come back here and click the Mister Linky image and submit a link directly to your post so we can all pop over and see how you interpreted this week’s prompt.

This week’s prompt: Beginning

Since this is my first attempt at this and I’ve never used this Mister Linky deal before, please also leave a link to your post in the comments, just in case Mister Linky doesn’t work the way I hope it will. I’m looking forward to seeing what you all write!

    • Mister Linky isn’t working like I’d hoped. I wanted it to add the links people posted directly into my blog post, but they’re only showing up when you click on the Linky image. So the link you left is there, it’s just not apparent right away. Thanks so much for participating!

    • So the Linky thing isn’t working like I’d hoped, but if you feel like going back and leaving a direct link, you can click on the Mister Linky image and fill in your name and URL. No pressure, but it’s available if you want. Thanks for participating!

      • So, when you’re on my blog, just click on the image. It’ll open up a new page where it lists other links at the top of the page. Under those, there’s a form with two boxes. In the first, you would type your name. In the next one, you would type in the link to your post. Once you’ve got those filled in, click the Enter button to the right and you’re good to go.

  1. So you write your response and post on Sundays? And just add it to the linky thing? The linky thing says we’re participating in “Sunday Seven” is that right? HAHA I’ve never participated in something like this!

    • Which question to answer first… Hmm…

You can actually write your response any time you want. I’ll be doing mine on Sunday, but I’m not gonna hold anyone to that kind of rule. I should have probably mentioned that in the post. Something to include next week!

Unfortunately, the Linky thing is not posting people’s links directly into my post, so to see what others are posting, you just have to click the Linky image. And yes, once you have written your post come back and leave a direct link with good ol’ Linky.

The “Sunday Seven” thing is just what it got labeled because I’m cheap and didn’t feel like paying for a membership with the Linky providers to make it say “Sunday Scribblings.” I’d have left it blank, but it made me choose something as a title. And that made more sense that “Wordful Wednesdays.”

    • Yeah, the Linky thing isn’t doing what I’d hoped. Really, I wanted it to post everyone’s links directly into the post so it would be easy for everyone to come back and click on everyone’s links. To see the links people have left, we just have click on the Linky thing again… just wish that wasn’t a necessary step.

As far as I’m concerned, Sunday is just a placeholder. You are free to write your post whenever you want. Thanks so much for participating!
