Question of the Week #30

Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers? What if you could keep $1,000,000 or give away $20,000,000?

You know, money is money. I need it just like anyone else in this country. Thanks to the importance of education, I have a mountain of student loan debt that I would love to pay off before I reach retirement age. But, honestly, if I’m given the choice, I’d rather give money to a good cause or to someone else in need.

What would you do with the money? Let me know in the comments…

  1. I would totally give it away! I loooooove to bring joy to others. I know it would come back to me somehow. There are people in this world who need it far more than I do…

  2. Give it away. It would be so amazing to bless others this way. I’d especially love to give it to people with huge medical bills for unexpected illnesses/treatments.

Besides, if I had a bunch of money like that, I’d probably get into trouble, and I already do that enough all on my own. 😉

  3. Depends on what part of my life you’re asking. There would have been a point to give it away. I’d set up a fund for single moms (parents) because my mom struggled so much.

However, if it were to happen now, we need it. Desperately. We don’t have any savings, so if the car breaks down- we’re screwed. We have no money for kids college, we have no retirement. We literally have nothing when it comes to $$. I’ve been placing our groceries on the credit card and made the bare minimum payment so that I could still place other utility bills on the card without being cut off. I have $300.00. Thankfully, I just got a job – that doesn’t pay much- so, I’d take it. That would be my answer right now.

However, if I’m working and we got the credit card bills paid off and more $$ coming in to put toward retirement and some college (and opportunity for lending) – then we’d give it away.

There’s really no concrete answer as life is always changing.
