Welcome to the third event of The Blogger Games III! Today, we’re testing your visual storytelling skills with the Photo Story Challenge!

Before we get into the 3rd event of these Blogger Games, I want to thank our three participants from yesterday’s competition! Telling stories in precisely 6-words is not an easy task to tackle. After two events, the leaderboard is as follows…

Event Description

In this event, you’ll create a compelling narrative using a series of photographs. Your challenge is to tell a story primarily through images, with minimal text to support your visual tale.

Rules

1. Time Frame: You will have 24 hours to complete this challenge, starting from 9:00 AM EDT today until 9:00 AM EDT tomorrow.
2. Photo Requirements:
   • Use exactly 5 photographs in your story.
   • Photos must be your own original work, taken within the 24-hour period.
   • No stock photos, previously taken photos, or AI-generated images are allowed.
   • Basic editing (cropping, color adjustment, etc.) is permitted, but no extensive manipulation or compositing.
3. Text Requirements:
   • You are allowed a maximum of 50 words total to accompany your photos.
   • This can be used as captions, a title, or brief narrative text between images.
   • The 50-word limit does not include the post title or any necessary image credits.
4. Story Elements:
   • Your photo story should have a clear beginning, middle, and end.
   • The theme is open, but your story should be cohesive and easy to follow.
5. Submission:
   • Publish your photo story as a single blog post on your own blog.
   • The post should be titled “Blogger Games III: Photo Story Challenge”
   • Return to this post and leave a comment with the link to your published piece before the 24-hour mark.
6. Time Stamp: Your blog’s timestamp and the timestamp of your comment linking to the post will be used to verify the 24-hour limit.
7. Originality: All content (photos and text) must be original and created within the 24-hour window.
8. Editing: No edits are allowed after the 24-hour mark. The post must remain as-is until judging is complete.

Scoring System

An objective third party will judge each entry based on the following criteria:

1. Visual Storytelling (0-30 points): How effectively the photos tell a story without relying on text.
2. Creativity (0-25 points): Originality of the concept and execution.
3. Technical Quality (0-20 points): Composition, lighting, and overall quality of the photographs.
4. Cohesiveness (0-15 points): How well the photos and text work together to create a unified narrative.
5. Text Usage (0-10 points): Effective use of the limited text to enhance the story.

Deductions:

• Exceeding the 50-word text limit: -5 points
• Using more or fewer than 5 photos: -10 points
• Submission after the 24-hour mark: Disqualification

Maximum possible score: 100 points

Remember, an objective third party will be scoring this event. Their decision is final.

Results for this event will be announced Monday morning at 9:00 AM EDT, along with the reveal of the fourth event. Make sure to check back for the leaderboard update!
