Event Description

In this challenge, participants will craft a blog post on a surprise topic within a strict time limit. This event will test your ability to brainstorm, write, and edit efficiently under pressure.

Rules

1. Topic Reveal: Write a post based on “The Most Unexpected Moment of My Life”.
2. Time Limit: You will have exactly 30 minutes from the topic reveal to write and publish your post.
3. Word Count: Your post must be between 300-500 words. Posts outside this range will face point deductions.
4. Publication: Publish your post on your own blog. Then, return to this post and leave a comment with the link to your published piece before the 30-minute mark.
5. Time Stamp: Be sure to go to the comments and leave a message saying you are beginning your post. Once you have finished, reply to your initial comment, leaving the link to your post. The time stamps of each of your comments will verify whether you fall within your 30-minute window.
6. Originality: All content must be original and created within the 30-minute window. No pre-written content or AI-generated text is allowed.
7. Editing: No edits are allowed after the 30-minute mark. The post must remain as-is until judging is complete.

Scoring System

An objective third party will judge each entry based on the following criteria:

1. Adherence to Topic (0-25 points): How well does the post address the given topic?
2. Creativity (0-25 points): Originality of ideas and approach to the topic.
3. Writing Quality (0-25 points): Grammar, structure, and flow of the post.
4. Engagement (0-25 points): How captivating and interesting is the content?
5. Time Bonus (0-10 points): Posts submitted before the 30-minute mark will receive bonus points (1 point per minute early, up to 10 points).

Deductions:

• Posts under 300 words: -5 points
• Posts over 500 words: -5 points
• Posts submitted after the 30-minute mark: Disqualification

Maximum possible score: 110 points

Remember, an objective third party will be scoring this event. Their decision is final.

Results for this event will be announced tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM EDT, along with the reveal of the second event. Make sure to check back for the leaderboard update!
