Rearranging

I’ve been thinking about it for a while. That thought has been the rearrangement of the furniture in my living room. But there’s a problem with that…

I have a very small living room. I have only so many pieces of furniture that can logically be moved to only so many logical locations in the room. And my TV is hanging on the wall on one end of the room, so it’s not like I can change that. I mean, I guess I could, but I can’t even begin to imagine how much work would have to go into uninstalling the TV from one wall and installing it on another.

But I’m doing it anyway…

I’m moving my treadmill so it’s in a different location. I’m moving my sofa so it’s at an off-angle toward the TV.

And I’m thinking ahead to when my Christmas tree comes down. Because in that empty spot, I want a desk. And I want a desk because I have been seriously considering getting a desktop computer for the first time since I was in college.

There’s a lot I want to do with an actual workspace. With a workspace at home, I won’t feel so awkward on those days when I work from home. I can sit at a real desk instead of being hunched over my laptop on my sinking sofa. And if I have a dedicated workspace, maybe I can finally get into the mind frame I need to be in so I can finally write the book I’ve been wanting to write. One of them, anyway…

Okay… Break over… Got to finish moving this stuff and hopefully not hurt my back more than normal…
