Would you add a decade to your life if it meant taking a decade from the life of some random person? If so, would you still do it if you had to become friends with (and stay in touch with) the person?
No… I’m not going to trade someone else’s life for my own. I’m sure there are millions of people in the world who would absolutely be that selfish. But I’m not one of them.
And I really have nothing with which to expand on that. So that’s all you get from me this week.
But if you’ve got more of an answer, let me read it down in the comments!
*The Question of the Week can be found in The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.
No, if I wanted to shorten someone’s life, I wouldn’t want to remain friends with them. That’s senseless.

If I knew the person or got to pick the person I was taking time from, I might haha! But for this it says a random person so I would also say no.

This is an easy one. I wouldn’t take the extra decade regardless of it coming from someone or “free”. I’m a firm believer in that the life I get “naturally” is what I deserve. There have been times in my life when I really struggled and wanted to end my life prematurely. I made it through those times and I’m grateful. But to ask for more? Nope. Not interested.
