The Blogger Games – Week 5

The Blogger Games is brought to you this week and every week by The Captain’s Speech. There’s always room for The Captain’s Speech.

Paul is brilliant when it comes to finding new ways to bring us all together as bloggers in the blogging community. This time it’s with (I assume) an Olympics-inspired series of games that will carry us through the next several weeks. I mean… carry us through this week. Because, sadly, this is the last week for The Blogger Games. Follow that link at the top to see how the results were tallied for last week and to play along this week. I’m pretty psyched to see that I made it back onto the podium with a silver medal in last week’s questions.

Each week, the Games will consist of multiple choice questions about Paul which follow specific topics. This week’s topic is simply True Or False. Gotta love a 50/50 shot.

For answering purposes, the answer I choose will be italicized.

1. I used to have two pet fish named “Fish E.” and “Binoculars”.
A) True
B) False

2. I got lost in an Olive Garden (the restaurant).
A) True
B) False

3. I found $5 in a book at the public library.
A) True
B) False

4. I was vacuuming the house at Age 3.
A) True
B) False

5. I fell in a puddle at recess in elementary school.
A) True
B) False

6. I don’t drink coffee.
A) True
B) False

7. I keep a lucky penny in my sock.
A) True
B) False

8. I prefer to use a pencil instead of a pen.
A) True
B) False

9. I like cauliflower with tomato sauce.
A) True
B) False

10. I normally eat dinner after 7PM.
A) True
B) False

My turn to share…
Paul says: Did you have any pets? Have you ever gotten lost? Have you ever found money? Are you a cleaner? When was the last time you fell? Do you drink coffee? Do have any superstitions? What do you like to write with? What cooked vegetables do you like? When do you eat dinner?

In order of appearance: I had a dog (cocker spaniel) named Sandy; a goldfish named Geppetto (yes, after Pinocchio’s father/creator even though Cleo would have made more sense as that was the name of the goldfish in the movie); two hamsters whose names escape me (ironically, they also escaped their terrarium); another dog (a cocker-poo) named Princess; and another dog (a shelty mix) named Duchess. The story of those last two dogs is heartbreaking… not sure if I’ve ever shared it here. I’ll have to do that sometime.

I don’t recall ever getting lost, either as a child or as an adult. Great sense of direction and all…

I think the only instances of found money have been those times when I put on a pair of pants that I haven’t worn in months and discover a $20 in the pocket. That’s just the best feeling.

I hate cleaning and usually procrastinate until I have no choice but to get it done.

Pretty sure my last legit fall came when I was leaving the school where I was working at the time. It was winter and the back steps leading to the faculty parking lot were icy. So I slipped, landed on my butt/back and slid the rest of the way down the stairs. It did not feel good.

I do not drink coffee in any way, shape, or form.

I’m not superstitious. But I am a little stitious.

I prefer a pen when writing.

Do I have to like any vegetables? I actually prefer to eat most of my choice veggies raw… But I won’t say no to some oven roasted broccoli. Good stuff…

I eat dinner whenever the mood strikes me. Sometimes that’s as early as 4:00… sometimes it’s as late as 9:00… It really just depends on the kind of day I’ve had and if I’ve decided to angry eat.

That’s it for this installment of The Blogger Games. Can’t believe this is the last week! Be sure to follow The Captain’s Speech to see how other bloggers respond to Paul’s questions and to follow along with each week’s medal ceremony.

  1. My favourite part of this was how you just casually said the hamsters escaped. I don’t know why I found that so funny.

Anyway, thanks for embracing The Blogger Games and participating every week! You started out slow but have finished very strong.
