Would you like to be truly brilliant–more intelligent than 99.9 percent of the population? If so, would it matter if being that smart would virtually eliminate your sense of humor about the things that amuse most people?
Uh… This question implies that I’m not already “truly brilliant.”
Okay, devil’s advocate… Let’s say that I’m not truly brilliant in my current state. I don’t think I’d want to be more intelligent than 99.9 percent of the world. I wouldn’t want that responsibility. I mean, being that wicked smart, you’d almost have to move into a career where you’re expected to lead a mission to Mars or cure cancer or write a bestselling self-help book that spawns some kind of cult that they end up making a documentary about on Netflix. I don’t need that pressure.
I especially don’t want to be that intelligent if it means I’m no longer the funniest guy in the room.
But what do you think? Would you want to be one of the top 10 most intelligent people in the world? What would you do with that kind of IQ? Let me know in the comments!
*The Question of the Week can be found in The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.
The teacher in me would love this because do you know how many ridiculous questions I get every day? “Why is the golden state bridge called golden when its red” “how old is God” “how many species of trees are there in the world” like little beautiful curious 7year old, I am not Google I don’t know!
But also, I love learning new things!! So I def would not want this lol

Nope. We’ve got Google for all the answers. I will keep my sarcastic sense of humor, thank you.
