Well… I was originally planning to post my thoughts on my number five movie: The Matrix. But plans change.
Honestly, I just haven’t had enough time to watch it and put down some thoughts while watching. So this is a fill in post so I can properly watch the movie for next Monday. If you were really looking forward to my thoughts on The Matrix, I apologize for making you wait another week.
Recently, I started thinking about what I would do with my Monday posts once I was finished with my Top 100 Favorite Movies. In a previous post, I put it to a vote with four potential options:
- Top 100 Best Movies I’ve Never Seen
- Top 100 Worst Movies I’ve Ever Seen
- Top 100 Worst Movies I’ve Never Seen
- Stop It With The Lame Movies Already!
Okay, so the fourth option was more a joke than anything else.
It later occurred to me that I never explained how I’d be able to figure out what any of those lists actually are. How could I possibly know what the best movies I’ve never seen are? How could I know what the worst movies I’ve seen or haven’t seen could be?
The answer is the same as when I determined my 100 favorites… Flickchart…
They have this handy algorithm that determines, based on all the people who use the site, what the best and worst movies of all time are. So I can easily make up a list of movies I’ve never seen and look at the 100 best or skip to the bottom and look at what movies are the 100 worst, based on other people’s votes.
And since Flickchart already keeps track of all the movies I’ve seen and ranked, it has a pretty good idea about what 100 movies are the worst ones I’ve personally seen. These, however, would only be based on my personal choices and not the decisions made by people around the world.
I did get several votes saying I should do the 100 Worst Movies I’ve Never Seen… but then I started thinking about the reality of doing that…
See, if I do the 100 Worst Movies I’ve Never Seen, then they would possibly become a part of the 100 Worst Movies I’ve Ever Seen… and if I should ever decide to do that list, I’d be hitting a lot of potential repeats. And who wants to deal with that?
I also put it to a vote on Twitter and it came out that the winner was the 100 Worst Movies I’ve Ever Seen. So I was planning to with that…
But then I started looking at the bottom of my list on Flickchart and I was appalled at more than a few of the movies that were showing up in my bottom 100. For example… How on earth did Good Will Hunting wind up there? I’m not saying it’s the best movie ever made, but it certainly doesn’t deserve to be that low on a list of over 2,000 movies (I’ve seen 2,225 according to the site). Robin Williams’ performance alone should throw it a lot closer to the top.
Anyway, before I can do the Top 100 Worst Movies I’ve Ever Seen, I need to seriously reassess the bottom of my Flickchart list. I’m guessing those movies wound up at the bottom because I only voted on them once or twice and they went up against movies that were obvious top picks for me.
So, instead, let’s go with the 100 Best Movies I’ve Never Seen. I’m sure there are some shiny gems in there that I’ll wind up loving and a few that I’ll probably not like so much. That’s how it works. Take my opinion on Citizen Kane… please. You can stop reading here if you want. The rest of this post will be those 100 movies that Flickchart says are the best I’ve never seen. Some of these films may be hard to track down, so if I wind up needing to skip something, I’ll be sure to come back to it when I get my hands on it.
Wish me luck…
I have seen a grand total of one of those 100! 😂 good luck! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them!

I’ve seen 11 out of 100. About 22 of them are things I intended to see at some point or have on my schedule. Then again, that is a very artsy list. As if a film studies professor put it together.

I haven’t heard of most of these! I’m glad you’re putting in all the work so I won’t have to. 🙂
