Have you ever told anyone that you didn’t like or love your parents?
I was a teenager once, wasn’t I? It’s a rare person who hasn’t, at one point or another, in a fit of rage or a rebellious streak, claimed they hated their parents. Either one, the other, or both. Even if life has proven them to be loving, faithful, and supportive parents.
I don’t think I’ve ever said that I did not love my parents. Though I’m almost certain that I’ve said I didn’t like my mom or my dad at some point(s) throughout my life.
That’s one I can logic my way through. Knowing there’s a difference between like and love… I can love someone unconditionally. But that doesn’t mean I have to like them all the time. More specifically, I guess, I don’t have to like something they’ve done or said… but that doesn’t change my love for them.
Have you ever told anyone you didn’t like or love your parents? Let me know down in the comments!
