Welcome to Rewatching Angel, the part of the blog where I rewatch the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off: Angel. Each Tuesday evening, you’re invited to join me as I attempt to rediscover what made me love these shows so many years ago.

She

• Cordelia is throwing a party at her place. Wes dances awkwardly. Angel mopes in a corner.
• Angel’s anything but the life of the party.
• Somewhere else, some guy seems to be guarding a crate. When he hears something calling out to him, he decides to bust it open.
• Judging by his reaction, what’s inside can’t be good.
• The next day, Wesley makes it kind of obvious that he’s broke. So Angel offers him a job.
• Then Cordelia has a vision. The guy that opened the crate got burned up and his eyes exploded. Gross.
• Angel and Wesley head to the ice factory where the guy’s corpse can be found.
• Angel has a look around, finds the corpse, goes through his wallet. Then he finds the crate… it’s full of ice.
• Then he comes across a demon who was sent to stop something he calls a “bringer of chaos.”
• Next, Angel heads to the victim’s place of business to find more clues. He worked for a private security firm.
• While he’s snooping, he’s thrown across the room by what sounds like an electric shock. Once he gets his bearings, he looks to see a woman who looks pretty calm for having just thrown a vampire across a room.
• The woman takes a call on her cell phone and gets away, but Angel is in pursuit.
• He follows her to a museum. In the back room, a portal opens and a female demon falls through.
• Just in time, Tay, the demon Angel saw at the ice factory, comes in with a group of others of his kind.
• Wes has discovered that Tay and his kind enslave their women in their home dimension. So Tay’s the real bad guy here.
• Tay and his gang of thugs take the newly arrived demon lady and do something to a spinal ridge that she has protruding at the top of her back. Probably the means of enslaving the females.
• Angel brings Electro-shock Girl to his place. She explains what the males are trying to do and tells him her name is Jheira. Her family rules their demon dimension.
• Cordelia and Wesley discover where Tay’s holding the woman. She’s been subdued and is ready to go back to her home dimension.
• Jhiera goes to a spa where three of her kind are unconscious in ice baths. Kurt, from Gilmore Girls, is helping her.
• She believes they need to be on the move soon.
• Angel and the bad guys all know where Jhiera is hiding the girls. So they head that way.
• Angel tries to warn Jhiera that the men are on their way.
• When the demon men arrive, Angel puts up a good fight while Wes and Cordelia help the women escape.
• Tay captures Jhiera and is about to “unmake” her when Angel arrives to save her.
• He warns Tay and his men to keep their war in their own dimension or else they have a brand new enemy here on earth.
• Jhiera shows up at Angel’s office the next day. He warns her the same way he warned Tay.
• I wonder if she was meant to be a recurring character. We never see her again.
