Question of the Week #127

If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

I don’t know… I think I turned out all right. Not perfect by any means. But all right…

Though, I suppose if I could change anything about how my parents raised me, I guess I would have liked to have been forced encouraged to try new things more often. I rarely tried new foods. I seldom played sports outside of PE class. I hardly ever went out of my way to make friends… with anyone, really.

Not sure how different that would have made things for me growing up. Or as an adult. Maybe I’d have a wider taste for exotic foods. Maybe I’d be in better shape, or at least have a genuine desire to get in better shape. Maybe I wouldn’t mostly despise being amongst large crowds of people. Who knows?

But life’s too short to live with regrets about what might have been. I like pizza. I’m comfortable in my skin. And I love my small circle of friends.

What about you? Anything you’d want to change about how you were raised? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I would change too many things to list here. Yet the way I was raised helped to shape my decisions, of which I also would also change so many. Yet again, without all of that I wouldn’t have my children and grandchildren who I love, the job that I love (although I can’t wait to retire) and be the person who I am now. So your question is almost too hard to answer.

  2. I would liked to have been allowed to know my Grandfather. He lived only a few doors away from us . I was brought up calling him Dads Dad and exchanged only a few words with him .
