You know you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be frozen within the week if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
I have a hard enough time making friends now, as it is. I don’t want to think about trying to make entirely new connections with people in 1,000 years. I’d rather spend my last three months with my friends and family who are still around right now than wait a thousand years to have that extra 40 or 50 years to live with people I don’t know in a culture that would be completely foreign to me.
What would you do? Would you just allow death to come or would you pull a Walt Disney?
