Question of the Week #9

QuestionWould you accept $1,000,000 to leave the country and never set foot in it again?

No, I don’t think so. I kind of like living in the US. I like having the wi-fi. I like fast forwarding through commercials. I like having a Coca-Cola every now and then. I realize that it’s possible to get a lot of the same comforts of home in a lot of other countries around the world. But I assume that it’s really not the same. And, you know, a million dollars just isn’t that much money these days. With exchange rates and being unsure of the strength of the dollar, how do I know how far that million will take me? Am I qualified for the same sort of career I have here? Would I still be able to see Batman v. Superman when it comes out next year? These are all questions that I don’t want to have to deal with. So I think I’ll stay right here in the continental United States for now. Probably forever.

How about you? Is $1,000,000 enough to make you apply for dual citizenship? Let me know in the comments.

  1. If it was the right place (somewhere I could find a quiet community to settle in and keep a small farm of sorts- a jersey cow, a few horses, and sheep), yes. I have little enough to tie me to where I am now. Hmm… does it seem like I have put too much thought into this plan already?
