Question of the Week #383

From Gregory Stock’s The Book of Questions: Do you strive more for security, accomplishment, success, love, power, or excitement?

For me, it’s got to be a healthy balance. Too much of one thing and you end up lopsided, like walking around with one shoelace untied. Boring! Some security and stability provide a solid foundation, but you’ve got to sprinkle in some love and laughs too. Accomplishing goals feels nice, but don’t forget to stop and smell the roses along the way. Power can be motivating, but don’t let it go to your head or you’ll alienate friends faster than day-old tuna salad. Excitement has its place, but too much thrill-seeking will wear you ragged. Moderation people!

Life is a buffet… take some of column A and a scoop of column B. Mix it up so your days have flavor, but don’t pig out or you’ll end up with a bellyache. Balance, my friends, balance. Walk that tightrope with grace and enjoy the view from up top.

So what do y’all prioritize in life? Chime off in the comments and show me your recipe for happiness! Me, I need to run. These shoes aren’t gonna tie themselves while I wax philosophical. Peace out, children!
