Because today is National Avocado Day, our Sunday Scribblings prompt for this week is Avocado. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…

The avocado is something that I claim not to like even though it’s a food I’ve never actually tried. To be fair, I have had guacamole, in which the main ingredient is the avocado. And I’m not a fan of the guac. So, from there, I mostly just assume I wouldn’t like a straight up avocado.

And part of it, I think, is a texture thing. So…

I guess that means I don’t have a lot to say about avocados on this National Avocado Day.

When I was on staff at my old church, I had a friend who would, every day, eat the same lunch. She would heat up what she referred to as a veggie burger in the microwave. To me, it looked like a small round rug made of moss. Anyway, she would also scoop out the innards of an entire avocado and mix that with the veggie burger and a couple of other things. I never got used to how disgusting her lunch looked… every day.

Unless we decided to go to Chipotle.

Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.

Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!
