Sewing

Because today is Sewing Machine Day, our Sunday Scribblings prompt for this week is Sewing. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…

All right everyone… I’ve got nothing. I don’t know how to sew. I’ve never used a sewing machine. I did sew a button back onto a shirt once, but that’s as far as my career as a seamstress ever got.

But that’s not why I really don’t have anything to share today. I’ve got nothing because I’ve been on vacation all week and this is my last day of it. Well… I have tomorrow off, too, but I’ll spend my entire day driving back home from my cousin’s house on the South Carolina coast.

I was planning to drive back today so I could take Monday to recoup from the vacation. You know how vacations can be exhausting, am I right? But they’re calling for substantial rain all day today, so I’ve decided to postpone the drive since I have the extra day before returning to work. Driving in the rain isn’t the best… especially if most of the six and a half hour drive involves interstate highways. I’m not worried about my driving ability… it’s the other morons on the road.

So (Sew) I have nothing to say about sewing. And I may not be able to get to the next movie on my list for tomorrow. But I’ll definitely post something because I’m on a hot streak. Today makes 534 consecutive days with blog posts. Can’t go without a post now… it’s like I have something to prove. But since I won’t have access to HBO Max to see Monday’s movie until late Monday afternoon or evening, I’ll have to put that off until next week. But I’ll definitely share something… Not sure what yet, but it’ll be something.

Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.

Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!
