This week, our Sunday Scribblings prompt is Time. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…
Time is a funny thing. While it is considered to be one of our most precious commodities, we so often are guilty of just wasting it. I know I can’t be the only one that does that.
How much could I have accomplished during all that time I spent in my apartment during lockdown? I had gotten a keyboard just before COVID hit. Did I teach myself how to play it during all that time? Nope. How many books did I promise myself I would read and did I read any of them? Not many. And then there’s the writing… If I’d really put my mind to it, I’m sure I could have gotten around to finally writing that novel I’ve always wanted to write. But did I? Nope.
All that valuable time… gone. All that time was a gift… wasted.
So here’s what I’d like to do in 2021… I’d like to make a promise to myself that I won’t waste the time I’m given. I want the hours of my days to be productive. I want to do the things I’ve been wanting to do while I have the time to do them. Here’s hoping I have the discipline to follow through this year.
Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.
Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!

I think we also have to be aware of not over filling our time and taking the rest that we need. For the last two weeks I haven’t touched any work. I had LOTS of time to prep and plan, and even after being notified when classes would resume, I still just let it sit. I feel like downtime is important. I have allowed myself days of just down time. I think its one of the gifts of 2020 – we are all now well aware of how we use our time and can see the benefits of taking stuff out or adding it in. Gotta have that good balance ☺️

Us humans are just bizarre creatures. “OMG there’s not enough time!” or “I’ve got time now but naah, not doing that yet…” Polar extremes haha
What you wrote affects all of us. I hear you man!

I am guilty of that time wasting too. I agree with you that this year I have to be more productive. No reason why I can’t! Good luck to us both.
