I’m super late on today’s post and the only excuse I have is that today’s been pretty non-stop busy since about 8:30 this morning. But, on the plus side, I’ve gotten (most of) my work done, got renewed for CPR and First Aid, and rocked the vote a little early. Hooray, democracy!
I had nothing in my head as far as what to post. So I thought back to last weekend and some fun I had with a few friends of mine. See, the four of us were friends back in our Bluefield days and these are the guys that I’ve been able to stay close with throughout the years. A few months back, Andy came up with the idea of using this fancy app on our phones called Marco Polo.
The idea is that, instead of everyone trying to coordinate schedules so we can fit in a Zoom call to catch up with each other, we use this to record short video messages that we can watch and respond to whenever we have the time.
This past weekend, Andy got us all on a challenge of sorts. We had to come up with movie titles that had first names in them. Easy enough, right? I mean, there are a lot. I’ll list some of the ones that come to my mind below. But first I want you all to settle something for me…
At one point during the weekend, I threw out the title Elizabethtown. Andy said it didn’t count because technically, the word is Elizabethtown and therefore the specific name Elizabeth does not appear in the title. I disagree, but I had about a dozen other titles ready to go, so I chose not to argue. But what do you think? Let me know if Elizabethtown should or should not count in this little game. While you’re at it, throw out your own first name movie titles that you think of!
Here are some of mine…
- Shane
- Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure
- Carrie
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Prince Caspian
- Charlie Bartlett
- Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist
- Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!
- Moana
- Mulan
- Tarzan
I mean… I could literally go on and on. I’m like a walking IMDB. What titles can you come up with? And don’t use Google… that’s just wrong.
Haha love that line not to use Google cos “that’s just wrong”😅
Edward Scissorhands is the only one that comes to my mind right now

First one that came to mind for me was Mrs. Doubtfire. 🙂
And I think I’d have to side with your friend. If it were broken into 2 words then it would have worked. For reference A Christmas Story doesn’t count even though the name Chris is in it.

I thought of a couple including Hitch, Ingrid Goes West, I, Tonya, Jennifer’s Body, Kill Bill, Love, Simon
and Matilda. And Elizabethtown should absolutely count.

I thought of:
Buffy (the movie)
Ella Enchanted
Good Luck Chuck
Alladin
Snow White
And does the Syfy channel movie Tin Man count?
I was going to say yes to Elizabeth town but the Chris/Christmas thing makes sense, so I’ll vote no.
