Twenty – Bloganuary

Welcome to Bloganuary. It’s this thing that WordPress is doing to encourage bloggers to post something every day by providing a regular prompt. I think that “Bloguary” would not only sound better but makes more sense. Maybe they’re saving that for next month. But if they go with Blogebruary I’m dropping out. Anyway, today’s prompt asks the question: What’s your dream job?

Thanks to today’s prompt, I am deep in thought on what my dream job would be. Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Aaron, all you do is sit around in your pajamas eating cereal and watching YouTube videos. You don’t even have a real job!” And I would argue that, just because I enjoy what I do doesn’t mean I don’t have a job!

But if I could pick any job in the world, it would definitely be something where I got paid to sit on my butt and make stuff up. I’m talking fiction writer, song lyricist, Hallmark card poet… anything where I could let my creative juices flow while still rockin’ the comfy pants. Even better if it was a work-from-home situation. I’m not what you’d call a “people person” and I don’t like having to comb my hair or put on actual clothes every day. I’d much rather just roll out of bed and start clacking away on the keyboard in my bare feet.

The dream would be to get paid big bucks to write novels that then get turned into hit Netflix shows or something. But honestly, at this point, I’d even write jingles for toilet paper commercials if it meant I could quit my day job. Still got to pay the bills, am I right? But in my free time, look out world – I’d be churning out those Pulitzer-worthy poems and penning lyrics for all the top artists. In my imagination, I’m basically Shakespeare meets Taylor Swift.

So there you have it friends – the completely unrealistic ramblings of what my dream job would be. What would your dream job be? Let me know in the comments below! And don’t judge me too harshly for my pajama-wearing, cereal-eating, movie reaction video-watching ways. I need hobbies outside of building Lego sets. I mean… do you have any clue how freakin’ expensive those Lego sets are?!

  1. Aaron, your post is a delightful mix of humor and aspiration! I love how you embrace your love for comfort and creativity in imagining your dream job. The idea of being a fiction writer or a song lyricist, all while staying in the comfort of your pajamas, is both relatable and inspiring. It’s fantastic how you blend your playful spirit with a clear passion for storytelling. Here’s to your dreams of Netflix adaptations and writing catchy jingles! Keep rocking those comfy pants and letting your imagination soar. 🌟✏️📚
