Fourteen – Bloganuary

Welcome to Bloganuary. It’s this thing that WordPress is doing to encourage bloggers to post something every day by providing a regular prompt. I think that “Bloguary” would not only sound better but makes more sense. Maybe they’re saving that for next month. But if they go with Blogebruary I’m dropping out. Anyway, today’s prompt asks the question: In what ways do you communicate online?

Hey blog readers, it’s Peckapalooza here. Today is all about the ways I communicate online and connect with all you fine people out there in internet land.

As anyone who knows me knows, email and texting make up a big chunk of how I stay in touch these days. Email is great for those more formal or lengthy conversations – you know, catching up with old friends, hashing out work projects, arguing with customer service bots until a real human finally jumps in. I’m all about crafting the perfect email subject line and peppering in some well-placed emojis and gifs to keep things light.

When it comes to texting, that’s my go-to for quick hits throughout the day. Got a hot take on the latest meme? Text it to me. Need to coordinate dinner plans? Text me. Feeling existential dread about the state of the world? I’m here for you, just shoot me a text. I’ll reply with a thoughtful insight or a silly gif, whatever the situation calls for.

The only downside is when I end up in one of those rapid-fire text exchanges that drags on for hours, bogging down my whole day. But hey, that’s the price we pay for having constant connectivity at our fingertips 24/7.

On that note, I’d love to hear from you all – how do you prefer to communicate online? Email, text, social media? Hit me up in the comments and weigh in. I’m always down for a rousing debate on the merits of various online communication platforms and nostalgic tales of AOL Instant Messenger.
