This is a tough one… There are tons of amazing quotes out there in the world. People are always saying things. Do I go with real world wisdom from someone like Winston Churchill or Dr. Seuss or Mr. Rogers? Or do I go with a movie quote?

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” -Dr. Seuss

That’s the one I’m going with. I think it’s a good reminder when we reach the ends of certain seasons in life to look back on the good times rather than dwell on what we’ll miss about that time. Are we always successful at avoiding those tears? Heck, no… When doors have closed for me in the past, I’ve definitely mourned those losses… friends I won’t see anymore, situations I won’t be able to enjoy again in the future. All that’s left are memories. And there’s nothing wrong with missing the time that has been, but it’s definitely a lot more fun to look back and smile or laugh at the experiences than to shed tears about that time being finished. Besides, there are still good times to come, right? I mean, if I were an optimist I’d believe that. As a realist, I can agree that there are definitely times to come.
