This week, our Sunday Scribblings prompt is Walking. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…
I think I’m bad at walking.
My car is parked in a garage that’s about two blocks from my building. Walking to my car, by the time I reach the entrance to the garage, my back is sore and I just want to sit down. Thankfully, I’m near my car and can do that very thing.
Whenever I’m walking from my car to my apartment, I experience the same back pain by the time I stroll through the lobby. This makes me want to avoid the stairs so I can take the elevator. Every time.
When I go grocery shopping, I do a lot of walking around inside the store. But I don’t experience that two block walk back pain because, I assume, I’m pushing a shopping cart and can, therefore, lean against the thing from time to time whilst perusing grocery aisles.
Is it because I’m old now? Is it because I’m out of shape? Is it a combination of the two?
I mean, I have no doubt I would exercise a lot more if I knew it wouldn’t hurt so much after only about 10 minutes of activity on my feet.
Ugh… why can’t I just be 25 again?
Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.
Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!

Hmms what if you did low impact exercise to make your back stronger and then you can walk more and exercise more without the back pain? Or maybe you need a chiropractor? Lol

I agree, the more you do the more you can do. Keep moving. A chiropractor wouldn’t hurt either. You are much too young to be so old. 🙂 Seriously!
