A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal 2025

It would be easy to kick off this post with the cliched statement: “I can’t believe it’s already that time of year again!” And I guess I just did. But the thing is, I can believe it’s already that time of year again. As I’ve gotten older, and this should come as no surprise to anyone over the age of 30, I’ve learned that time has a funny way of moving a lot more quickly than it did when I was younger.

And so, here we are, on the threshold of another April and another A to Z Challenge.

This will be my fifth time participating in the challenge, with my previous Aprils as follows…

  • In 2019 I did an A-Z of movie reviews beginning with Adventures in Babysitting and ending with Zombieland.
  • In 2020 I did an A-Z of Disney specific movie reviews. My personal rule was that everything I watched had to be found on the Disney+ streaming service.
  • In 2021 I did an A-Z of DC Comics characters, providing a brief post on characters from Aquaman to Zatanna.
  • In 2022 I challenged myself to write short fiction each day based on A-Z word prompts given randomly by friends. Each of those short stories took place in the DC Universe and all tied together to form one overarching narrative.
  • I did not participate in 2023, but returned to the challenge in 2024 with an A-Z of Greek mythology, from Athena to Zeus.

I’ve decided to try my hand at another serialized story that will cover each letter of the alphabet. But this time I won’t be playing around in anyone else’s sandbox, as I did with the DC Comics characters back in 2022. Nope… this time I’m creating my own sandbox to play in.

So stay tuned because April 1 will bring the first installment of the Alphabet Academy: Secrets of Everletter. Think of it as a young adult fantasy with dashes of magic, mystery, and mayhem thrown in for good measure. If that’s the kind of thing that interests you, I hope you’ll stick with me throughout the entire month and follow the adventures of Mira Quinn as she navigates a new and unexpected path that is set before her.

Are you taking on the A to Z Challenge in April? What’s your theme for 2025? Let me know in the comments and share a link to your blog so I can swing by and show some support!

  2. Have fun this year! I can’t participate in A-Z challenges, but this year I will be doing my own personal alphabet challenge in September. I’ll be reviewing sci-fi cult movies from A to Z with 4 numerical movies filling in the rest.

  3. Your story to come sounds interesting though I’m not much of a fan of young adult stories but I will come and check it and if I like the first post, maybe I’ll stick around.

I’m also joining the challenge but no theme for me though I might tell a couple of stories. Good luck with the challenge.

    Have a lovely day.
