Event Description
In this deliciously creative challenge, you’ll be crafting a blog post that metaphorically “bakes” the perfect blog. You’ll use baking terminology and concepts to explain the art of creating and maintaining a successful blog.
Rules
- Time Frame: You will have 10 hours to complete this challenge, starting from 9:00 AM EDT today until 7:00 PM EDT.
- Content Requirements:
- Your post must be between 800-1200 words.
- Structure your post as a recipe for the “Perfect Blog.”
- Use baking terminology throughout your post to describe blogging concepts. For example:
- “Ingredients” could be blog elements (content, design, audience engagement)
- “Mixing” could refer to combining different types of content
- “Baking time” might represent consistency in posting
- Include at least 5 distinct baking-related metaphors or analogies.
- Incorporate a “Tips from the Chef” section with at least 3 practical blogging tips.
- Post Structure:

- Introduction: Brief explanation of your blog “recipe”
- Ingredients: List of necessary blog elements
- Instructions: Step-by-step guide to “baking” a successful blog
- Tips from the Chef: Practical blogging advice
- Conclusion: Final thoughts on your blog “bake”
- Creative Element:
- Include a visually appealing “recipe card” summarizing your blog recipe. This can be a simple graphic, a formatted text box, or even a hand-drawn image. (Note: This is not scored but adds a fun element to the challenge.)
- Submission:
- Publish your post on your own blog.
- The post should be titled “Blogger Games III: The Great Blog Bake-Off”
- Return to this post and leave a comment with the link to your published piece before the 10-hour mark.
- Time Stamp: Your blog’s timestamp and the timestamp of your comment linking to the post will be used to verify the 10-hour limit.
- Originality: All content must be original and created within the 10-hour window.
- Editing: No edits are allowed after the 10-hour mark. The post must remain as-is until judging is complete.

An objective third party will judge each entry based on the following criteria:

- Submission after the 10-hour mark: Disqualification
Maximum possible score: 100 points
Reminder

Results for this event will be announced Thursday morning at 9:00 AM EDT, along with the reveal of the seventh event. Make sure to check back for the leaderboard update!
Good luck, bloggers! May your blogs rise to perfection!
I’m taking the word count penalty today, 800-1000 was way too much for me for this one!
