Because today is National Chopsticks Day, our Sunday Scribblings prompt for this week is Chopsticks. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…
Funny enough, I had Chinese food with my friends at lunch yesterday. And, yes, I ate with chopsticks.
I’m actually pretty good at maneuvering around the edibles with a pair of chopsticks. I won’t say I was a master the first time I picked them up. But I do know I was in kindergarten and we took a field trip to a local purveyor of fine, Asian cuisine at the Lamplighter Mall. It was a field trip that was scheduled to coincide with teaching us about the Lunar New Year. I also learned that I was born in the year of the monkey… though I still don’t really know what that means.
But I’m not 100% on what it means to be a Pisces, either.
In related news, “Chopsticks” is one of two songs I can definitely play on the piano. The other, of course, is “Heart and Soul.” Thank you, Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia in the movie Big.
Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.
Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!

Is your chopstick game consistent? I feel that some days I can do anything with them and others I can’t grab a huge piece of meat.

I mean… I can’t juggle with chopsticks, but I think I do all right. Rice sometimes presents a challenge, but usually not too bad.
