If you walked out your door one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in a bush, what would you do? Why?
Honestly, it would depend on how much of a hurry I’m in as I’m leaving the apartment.
Not to sound heartless or anything… But if I was leaving for work, there’s a good chance I’m on the clock and need to pick up a client for an appointment. I’m not going to risk being late so I can take care of an injured wild animal. Sorry… Chalk it up to survival of the fittest.
On the other hand, if it’s the weekend and I’m just going out to be getting out of the apartment (which never happens… come on), I’d be more likely to try and do something about it. I might run (take the elevator) back upstairs and find a shoebox and a pair of rubber gloves. Don’t think I’d feel entirely comfortable just picking up a bird with my bare hands to put it in a box. Then I’d probably take it to a vet somewhere and do whatever could be done.
Unless the vet wants to charge me a ton of money to mend a strange bird’s broken wing. This isn’t my pet. I have no emotional attachment.
But what would you do? Would you do whatever it takes to save this tiny animal? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
