Welcome back to the 2nd Blogger Games! As we enter our 4th week of competition, it all appears to be downhill from here. Will you slalom your way onto the winners podium? Or will you pull a Molly Bloom and be forced to give up your dreams of a gold medal in exchange for running an underground, multi-million dollar, high stakes poker game for the ultra rich and famous?

Before we get into this week’s theme and questions, let’s see how our competitors did last week…

Week 3 – Preferences

1. Which way do I like the toilet paper roll to hang?
A) Over
B) Under

Correct: Monty, Venus, T, yoyoliving, Paul

If one goes back to look at the original diagram displaying the toilet paper roll on the toilet paper holder which accompanies the patent for a roll of toilet paper, it shows the roll or toilet paper in a position where the loose end hangs over the roll. Not under. Therefore I am simply using the toilet paper the way it was always meant to be used.

2. Sandwiches taste better when they are…

B) Cut Diagonally

This often depends on how much time I have when making a sandwich. If I’m in a hurry, I will just slap the bread and meat together and go. But if I’m allowed to take my time and enjoy the sandwich as I believe it was meant to be enjoyed, my preference is to cut it diagonally before consuming each half. Also, when it’s cut, I don’t necessarily feel pressured to eat the entire sandwich right at this very moment. I can save the other half for later.

3. When it comes to watching shows on TV, I like to watch them…

I think it’s odd that I’ve become this way, seeing as how I definitely grew up in a generation that required us to watch television live or not at all. I mean, sure, we had VCRs back in the late 80s and 90s, but who could figure out how to get it to stop blinking 12:00 all the time? I kid… VCRs were not that difficult to program. But I’ve been spoiled by the streaming services and the ability to just hold off until the end of a television season to binge 13 episodes over a weekend. So now that’s how I like to do it. Otherwise I get bored and lose interest.

Always have been. It’s not that I can’t stay up late. It’s just that I choose not to. Often, there are evenings when I’ll feel exhausted and look at the clock, see that it’s only 7:30, and think, Yeah that’s late enough… That’s not to say I don’t enjoy sleeping late from time to time. But sleeping late usually translates to 7 or 8 at the latest. Any later than that and I feel like I’ve wasted half the day.

5. Which fast food French Fries do I prefer?
A) McDonald’s
B) Burger King

Correct: N/A

This one might be a shocker, since no one got it right. And since I’m pretty sure McDonald’s fries are ranked number one globally. I don’t actually have a statistic on that. But there’s just something about Burger King’s fries that does it for me.

Not only do I sleep on my side, but I tend to curl my legs up into a near-fetal position. Can’t really curl up into a ball on my back. Just doesn’t feel right.

Are you guys holding me to a higher ecological standard than I’m actually meeting? It’s not that I don’t trust a restaurant to wash their cups every time they’re used. Actually, it’s exactly that. And I apologize to the wee turtles, but a paper straw is just a bad idea.

Here’s my logic: When it’s hot, there’s only so much you can take off. I mean, you can get down to nothing and still be uncomfortably hot. When it’s cold, you can always throw more layers on. That’s what quilts are for. So give me the cold.

A lot of this comes back to preferring to be cold over feeling hot. I’m sure there are some northern beaches that can get cold, but I’m only used to visiting the beaches that are crazy hot and humid in the summer. Lake life just seems a little more peaceful.

B) Harry Potter

That might have been a gimme. Though I do thoroughly enjoy the Percy Jackson series of books, and there are more of those books to read, Harry Potter just has everything going for it from start to finish.
