What does one write about when the prompt is nothing?

The temptation is to leave the post blank. That would certainly be nothing. Then there’s the unbeatable antagonist from The NeverEnding Story… The Nothing. But to say something about The Nothing would be something. Not nothing.

There’s always a retrospective on the classic sitcom Seinfeld, the self-described show about nothing… That seems the most fun, anyway. So I think that’s what I’ll go with. Nothing too in depth… just some thoughts after a recent rewatch of the series.

For a long time I wouldn’t watch the reruns of Seinfeld. I think it was because I grew tired of it. This is back when TBS was showing four episodes in a row five days a week. Not sure about everyone else, but I can only take so much of this quartet of individuals who are kind of jerks to everyone around them. Sure, they all have their moments… but the entire series finale was built around the fact that all four of them are despicable people.

I’m not saying I don’t think Seinfeld is funny. I think it’s hilarious. There are so many classic moments from that series that will play in my head and cause me to smirk or even chuckle under my breath from time to time. But watching back through the show once it recently hit Netflix reminded me why I stopped watching the reruns so many years ago. In spite of the laughter, I just got kind of tired of the whole thing.

Especially George. I can’t stand him.
