Because today is the Closing Ceremonies for the Summer Olympics, our Sunday Scribblings prompt for this week is Olympic. If you decide to write a post based on this week’s prompt, be sure to go back here and share your link so everyone can see how you interpreted things! Here’s what I did with it…
I didn’t keep up with the Olympics this time around like I have in the past. I tried getting into things during that first weekend, but I don’t take the time to do live TV these days.
Wait… let me explain. I have full cable service. Not by choice, but because my apartment includes an amenities fee each month which includes cable and internet from the local provider. If I had my druthers, I would only be doing internet because I have so many streaming services that cable is basically obsolete. Therefore, if I were paying for it outside of this amenities fee, I’d cut the cord.
That said, I do have a cable box that is always plugged in and acts as more of a clock than anything else. The thing is, I only have so many HDMI connections on my TV and those are…
Wait… I just checked again… the cable box is hooked up to the TV.
I forgot that when I got my new TV I decided to devote two of the HDMI connections to my PlayStation and the cable box. So… this post is a moo point because I could have been watching live TV this whole and I just completely forgot that cable exists.
All that being said, I have no idea how the Olympics have turned out this year. I assume Team USA has done well as we generally do. Being the wealthiest nation in the world kind of makes it hard for us not to do well, am I right?
That’s not meant to be a brag, by the way.
Maybe I’ll pay closer attention to the Winter Olympics in three years…
Thanks to everyone who participated this week and shared your links! Please visit their blogs, give them a follow, and take a look at how they interpreted the prompt.
Be sure to come back on Wednesday for the next Sunday Scribblings prompt! Encourage other bloggers to challenge themselves with the prompt! Remember that there are no rules for what you write, other than responding to the prompt! You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, biography, instruction… it’s all up to you!
