Do you think the world will be a better or a worse place 100 years from now? Do you see our present world as a better place than the world of a century ago? How so?
This question is way deeper than I was prepared for this morning.
Better or worse… It really depends on perspective. In some ways, I have no doubt the world will be better. But I’m also certain that it will be worse as well.
Here’s the thing, big brains in the medical field will come up with amazing advances that allow human beings to live longer and fight known diseases. But there will also be new illnesses that come along to undercut those medical advances. Technology will continue to astound us through the years, but then you just know that some kind of corrupt artificial intelligence will come along to screw that up. People will find new ways to communicate compassion and kindness while simultaneously spewing hatred and bigotry.
It’s always been this way because human beings are flawed. We’re imperfect. We’re sinful. It’s who we are. Short of Jesus coming back, I’d say that the inevitability is that things will just get worse.
But what do you think? Add another 100 years to human history, do we get better or worse? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments!
